How It Started
Student worker on the WE Over Me Farm at Paul Quinn CollegeThe WE Over Me Farm began in 2010 as a dynamic and innovative partnership between Paul Quinn College and PepsiCo's Food for Good Initiative. Recognizing that the College sits in the middle of a
food desert, President Michael Sorrell chose to address one of the most prominent health issues in American urban neighborhoods.

Our Mission
The WE Over Me Farm addresses the lack of affordable, healthy food options available to under-resourced communities throughout Dallas.  The farm also creates a replicable model for achieving sustainable urban re-development built around providing healthy food options to economically depressed communities.

About Us
The farm is located on the two acres of campus that once housed the College football program. Among the items grown on the farm are herbs, greens, root vegetables, squash, tomatoes, watermelons, and many more.  The We Over Me Farm also raises bees in partnership with the Texas Honeybee Guild and utilizes an aquaponics system.

Food from the farm is distributed according to PQC's unique 4 Cs of Distribution:

  • College - Food from the farm is served in the Millennium Cafe and at College events.
  • Community - Food is made available directly to members of the Highland Hills community and beyond.
  • Commercial - Food is available for restaurant chefs, grocers, and farmers markets.
  • Charitable organizations - As a Christian institution, Paul Quinn tithes food to churches and food pantries.

Our farm-fresh food feeds students, community members, and restaurant-goers across Dallas.

The WE Over Me Farm aPaul Quinn College is also a vital part of our students' education. Students work on the farm as a part of their biology and social entrepreneurship curricula. Most importantly, the farm is part of Quinnites' commitment to servant leadership.
