About Us
The Center for Fundraising and Philanthropy at Paul Quinn College has been established in response to the increasing impact of philanthropy, which is a transformative force within our society. The charitable contributions of donors have the power to influence policy, reshape communities and bolster institutional effectiveness. The first of its kind to be established at a Historically Black College (HBCU), the Center engages, educates, and empowers all who seek to improve the world through the practice and study of fundraising and philanthropy.

Mission
The Center for Fundraising and Philanthropy at Paul Quinn College facilitates the exchange of ideas related to fundraising and philanthropy and seeks to enhance the field in both theory and practice.

What We Do
The Center is a global thought leader committed to expanding the world-view of philanthropy. We work to cultivate a diverse fundraising talent pool, promote social awareness, and create opportunities for students, professionals, donors, volunteers, organizations and institutions in the ever changing, dynamic fundraising profession and philanthropic sector.

The Center’s programming encourages the development of a deeper understanding of fundraising and philanthropy through teaching, training, and research by providing professional development opportunities, and by facilitating the exchange of resources and ideas related to fundraising and philanthropy. The Center expands the positive influence of philanthropy on society by empowering its students and partners with the intellectual capital and know-how to promote stronger and more self-sustaining non-profit organizations and institutions.

The Center works to achieve the following goals:

  • Provide training and education for fundraising scholars and professionals
  • Support the academic growth and development of fundraising scholars and professionals
  • Support the diversification of professions related to fundraising and philanthropy
  • Promote an increased awareness of issues related to fundraising and philanthropy through the advancement of scholarship and the exchange of ideas
  • Build a culture of collaboration and cultivate partnerships
