People constantly asked me, “Why Paul Quinn?” My response was always the same, “Why not Paul Quinn?” Why wouldn’t a student want to attend an institution where you are on a first name basis with the college president?
Why wouldn’t a young person want to be someplace where they can grow in both their educational and personal lives? Why wouldn’t someone who is leaving home for the first time want to come to a place where family values are so important that your professor will take you home for a home cooked meal every now and then?
I have yet to have anyone present a compelling reason to me why I shouldn’t have chosen Paul Quinn. It was the best decision of my life and helped me realize things about myself that I never knew before. I loved going to a class where I knew my professor was not there just to collect a check, but rather to make sure I was fully qualified to succeed in my life.
I loved walking into my college president’s office and being able to meet with him face to face. I loved feeling as though I never left home. Why Paul Quinn? No, the question you need to ask yourself is, “Why not Paul Quinn?"
